About Us

Dawn Youshak is a Reading Specialist and Elementary Educator that holds a permanent certification from NYS and Florida. Trained in Orton Gillingham, Wilson Reading Program and Connect to Comprehension to meet individual needs of children. She graduated fromSUNY Oneonta with a BS in Elementary Education. Furthering her education, she received her MS in Reading/Special Education from Hofstra University.

Dawn was a fourth grade teacher for many years before she became a stay at home Mom to raise her children. As her children got older Dawn started her own online tutoring business.

It was very small and quaint because her goal was to help as many students as she can while still caring for her children. Later in life, she became a part time reading specialist in a small private school. That started her new endeavor to create a specialized reading program to help enhance the lives of students with learning difficulties. Hence, The Florida Traveling Tutor, LLC was established to maximize the success of every child. She now has a team of five people to create her dream that no child will be left behind.

In addition, Dawn is a mother, wife, reader, and loves to exercise. She is also dyslexic which helps her relate to the difficulties many children have through humor, love, kindness and compassion. Take a look on the tutor services that we are providing.
