Delaney Norton
Hello! I’m Delaney Norton, and I’d love to help your student gain confidence in a wide range of subjects! I’m currently a student at Florida State University, studying business and child psychology. I’ve been tutoring students K-11 for 3 years in subjects that include college test preparation, reading, math, and early education, and I specialize in guiding children with special education needs. I founded my own SAT tutoring company in high school, SAT Sail Tutoring, where we increased students’ scores by up to 350 through my custom-made curriculum that I curated through my own experience with learning and teaching the SAT. I pride myself on my dedication and ability to guide each of my students to their “Ah-Ha!” moments and help them find their preferred learning strategies while capitalizing on strengthening their skills from the ground up. My philosophy is that no two students learn in the same way, so we can’t expect to be able to effectively teach each student the same exact way.
As a student myself, I understand how difficult it can be to stay on task and engaged during tutoring sessions with children of any age, and therefore I make it my mission to make each of my students enjoy their session with me through positive reinforcement, engagement activities, and attention checks. For my younger students, I make every task into an engaging game. I also believe that a source of academic weakness in many students is a lack of confidence, so my sessions are dedicated to ensuring my students feel comfortable in their own academic abilities. All students have the capability, and it’s my responsibility to provide them with the tools they need to access their limitless capability! I’m looking forward to helping your student grow into their educational potential!
